Come rappresentante delle Fiandre – una delle nazioni più piccole dell’Unione europea – devo spesso osservare che la nostra lingua, l’olandese, sta rischiando l’estinzione nelle nostre stesse università, tra l’altro perché per una quantità sempre maggiore di corsi, non solo nelle Fiandre ma anche nei Paesi Bassi, l’unica lingua d’insegnamento è l’inglese.
As a representative of Flanders, one of the smallest nations in the European Union, I often notice that our language, Dutch, is repeatedly under threat within our own universities, among others because an increasing number of courses, not only in Flanders, but also in the Netherlands, are being taught exclusively in English.
