Nel suo libro, Cecenia: il disonore russo, scriveva: “Putin e il suo popolo hanno dato la loro benedizione a qualcosa che nessun paese può tollerare, ossia a una corruzione fondata sul sangue di migliaia di vittime, un esercito roso dall’anarchia militare, uno spirito sciovinista nell’apparato governativo mascherato da patriottismo, una retorica sfrenata dello Stato forte, un razzismo anticeceno ufficiale e popolare, con metastasi che si estendono ad altri popoli della Russia.
In her book, ‘Chechnya: Russia’s disgrace’, she writes: ‘Putin and his people have given their blessing to something that no country can accept, namely a form of corruption based on the bloodletting of thousands of victims, an army ravaged by military anarchy, a chauvinistic attitude within the government apparatus that is passed off as patriotism, wild rhetoric about a strong State, and official, popular racism against the Chechens, the fall-out of which extends to other Russian peoples.
