1. richiama l'attenzione sul fatto che la liberalizzazione dei servizi è oggetto di un ampio dibattito pubblico e che l'offerta negoziale deve essere pertanto sottoposta a un efficace esame parlamentare; accoglie quindi favorevolmente gli sforzi della Commissione volti a trasmettere ad alcuni deputati del Parlamento europeo le offerte comunitarie relative al GATS; chiede, tuttavia, una maggiore trasparenza, incluso l'accesso senza restrizioni ai documenti negoziali dell'Unione per tutti i deputati del Parlamento europeo, nel rispetto delle norme PE sulla riservatezza;

Recalls that services liberalisation is a matter of great public debate and that the offer must therefore be subject to effective Parliamentary scrutiny; welcomes, therefore, the efforts by the Commission to provide some Members of the European Parliament with the GATS EU offers; calls, however, for further transparency, including full access to EU negotiating documents for all Members of the European Parliament, subject to the EP rules on confidentiality;
